About Willow & Wix

My name is Leslie Nonay, I am the owner of Willow & Wix. Every wood product is handcrafted by myself with love, precision and care from my hometown of Calgary, AB.

I have always loved woodworking, I chose the route of academics and University for my career. I started my career as a RN in Pediatric Oncology in 2008. I think of myself as a self taught woodworker, taking online courses and years of trial and error attempting to perfect the craft. Like many of us I have faced some significant, unexpected challenges in my adult life.

Shortly after my son was born in 2016 my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Fast forward 6 years he went into a wheelchair with so many challenges our family faced in between. 

After a bought with Thyroid cancer in 2022, a total thyroidectomy and radiation treatment I had my wake up call. My cancer was the universe giving me a chance to step back, slow down and really think about what I wanted out of life. building became my safe place, my outlet, a place I could escape, somewhere I could pour my pain, my heart and soul into… and that is how Willow & Wix was born!

My mission is to provide high-quality home decor products at affordable prices. I believe that everyone deserves to have a beautiful home, regardless of their budget. My promise to you is I will give all that I have to create beautiful, good quality, handmade products for your home.
